(Modern Climbers) A Peter Beales Roses introduction, and unique to them in the UK, 'Attleborough' bears clusters of vivid, clear red blooms with occasional delicate white tints, flowering freely from midsummer and repeating with impressive vigour well into autumn. A healthy and robust climber with real presence, it carries a pleasing moderate fragrance. It was named with great pride for the nursery's own home town of Attleborough in Norfolk, where a public rose garden has been planted in its honour.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Attleborough roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Attleborough with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Attleborough is back in stock.

Attleborough's mature growth range is 360cm x 240cm (12ft x 8ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Climbing roses produce fewer, larger flowers on stiffer, more upright growth, and most repeat-flower through summer with a light prune each year. Rambling roses grow much more vigorously on long, flexible canes and produce one spectacular flush of smaller flowers in early-to-midsummer, usually pruned just after flowering rather than in winter.

Attleborough belongs to our Modern Climbers family of roses.
