(Polyanthas and older floribundas) Bearing generous clusters of semi-double blooms in a luminous warm pink that softens to pale salmon at the edges, Centenaire de Lourdes is a rose of effortless charm and remarkable continuity, flowering prolifically from early summer well into autumn. Its wavy, open petals give each bloom a gentle, informal grace that belies the sheer abundance of the display. Named to commemorate the centenary of the Marian apparitions at Lourdes in 1858, it carries with it a quietly devotional heritage.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Centenaire De Lourdes roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Centenaire De Lourdes with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Centenaire De Lourdes is back in stock.

Centenaire De Lourdes's mature growth range is 90cm x 60cm (3ft x 2ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Floribunda roses produce large clusters of blooms on each stem rather than one flower at a time, giving a bold, continuous show of colour from summer into autumn. They're generally bushier and more free-flowering than Hybrid Teas, making them excellent for borders and bedding.

Centenaire De Lourdes is a Floribunda rose.

Polyantha roses are compact, hardy varieties that produce large sprays of small flowers almost continuously through the season. They were the forerunners of today's Floribundas and remain popular for low borders, edging and pots.

Centenaire De Lourdes is a Polyantha rose.
