(Procumbent (Ground Covering Roses)) Macrantha Raubritter is a rose of irresistible charm, bearing generous trusses of clear pink blooms in a deeply cupped, almost globular form reminiscent of the old Bourbon roses. The flowers tumble together in a cascading mass during midsummer, their soft, shell-like petals creating a romantic, old-world effect that is quite unlike any other. A gentle, sweet fragrance drifts from each perfectly formed cup.

Not quite as pictured

I bought this rose because of the blooms shown in the pictures. They reminded me of peonies. The flowers are actually quite small and once open they look more like a dog rose and reminds me of the hedges on an industrial estate, which isn’t my vibe really. I’m a bit sad that I’ve given it prime real estate in my garden.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Macrantha Raubritter roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Macrantha Raubritter with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Macrantha Raubritter is back in stock.

Macrantha Raubritter's mature growth range is 90cm x 180cm (3ft x 6ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Ground Cover roses have a low, spreading habit that hugs the soil rather than growing upright, making them useful for covering banks, edging borders or trailing over low walls. Most flower prolifically and need very little pruning.

Macrantha Raubritter belongs to our Procumbent (Ground Covering Roses) group.
