(Damasks) Bearing softly textured blooms of warm, glowing pink in generous clusters, Kazanlik is one of the most intensely fragrant roses in existence — a scent so rich and intoxicating it seems almost too generous. It flowers with pleasing freedom across the summer months, and its petals dry beautifully for pot pourri. This ancient variety takes its name from the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria, where it has been cultivated for centuries as the primary source of precious attar of roses.
