(Patio Roses) Cheerful clusters of small, softly golden-yellow blooms appear in generous succession from early summer right through to late autumn, offering an impressively long season of colour. The flowers carry a pleasing moderate fragrance and are set against a backdrop of clean, glossy foliage that remains notably healthy throughout the season.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Summertime roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Summertime with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Summertime is back in stock.

Summertime's mature growth range is 210cm x 200cm (7ft x 6.6ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Climbing roses produce fewer, larger flowers on stiffer, more upright growth, and most repeat-flower through summer with a light prune each year. Rambling roses grow much more vigorously on long, flexible canes and produce one spectacular flush of smaller flowers in early-to-midsummer, usually pruned just after flowering rather than in winter.

Summertime belongs to our Patio Climbers & Ramblers family of roses.

Patio roses are compact, naturally bushy varieties bred to stay small — usually under 60cm — making them ideal for pots, containers and smaller gardens where a full-size shrub rose wouldn't fit. They flower just as freely as their larger relatives.

Summertime belongs to our Patio Climbers & Ramblers group.
