(Shrub) Bearing loose, semi-double blooms in a warm, buttery sulphur-yellow that softens enchantingly as the flowers mature, this ancient species rose possesses a wild, unaffected charm that feels at once timeless and deeply romantic. The moderately fragrant flowers are carried with effortless grace along arching stems, creating a natural, painterly effect in the garden. One of the oldest yellow roses in cultivation, it is believed to have reached Europe from Western Asia in the late sixteenth century.
