(Modern Climbers) A Peter Beales Roses introduction of exceptional garden merit, 'Highgrove' produces an abundance of sizable, full-petalled blooms in a rich garnet red, flowering with remarkable continuity from early summer well into autumn. The many-petalled flowers carry a subtle fragrance and are borne with extraordinary generosity throughout the season. Named in honour of the celebrated private garden of HRH The Prince of Wales in Gloucestershire, this rose is exclusive to Peter Beales Roses.

    Why grow this with Highgrove?

  • Lady's Mantle

    Lady's Mantle

    Why grow this with Highgrove?

Soft, scalloped leaves and frothy lime-green flowers make an easy edging that catches morning dew and softens the front of a rose border.

  • Allium

    Allium

    Why grow this with Highgrove?

Its architectural purple globes rise above rose foliage in early summer, and its onion-family scent is thought to help confuse pests that target roses.

  • Lavender

    Why grow this with Highgrove?

A classic rose companion: its silvery foliage and compact habit hide bare lower stems, and it shares roses' love of full sun and free-draining soil.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Highgrove roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Highgrove with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Highgrove is back in stock.

Highgrove's mature growth range is 240cm x 150cm (8ft x 5ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Climbing roses produce fewer, larger flowers on stiffer, more upright growth, and most repeat-flower through summer with a light prune each year. Rambling roses grow much more vigorously on long, flexible canes and produce one spectacular flush of smaller flowers in early-to-midsummer, usually pruned just after flowering rather than in winter.

Highgrove belongs to our Modern Climbers family of roses.
