(Hybrid Teas) Flaming Star earns its name with large, showstopping blooms of warm flame-pink, each petal edged in cherry red and centred with a luminous golden glow — a combination of remarkable depth and drama. Reliably repeat-flowering from early summer well into autumn, it offers an extended season of colour, while dark, glossy foliage provides a handsome backdrop. A gentle fragrance of fruit and rose adds a final, pleasing flourish.

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

Its billowing grey-green foliage softens bare rose stems, and its long flowering season keeps pollinators visiting long after the first flush of roses is over.

  • Lavender

    Lavender

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

A classic rose companion: its silvery foliage and compact habit hide bare lower stems, and it shares roses' love of full sun and free-draining soil.

  • Allium

    Allium

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

Its architectural purple globes rise above rose foliage in early summer, and its onion-family scent is thought to help confuse pests that target roses.

  • Salvia

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

Its upright flower spikes contrast beautifully with rounded rose blooms, and it flowers for months, keeping colour going in the border once the first flush of roses fades.

  • Hardy Geranium

    Hardy Geranium

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

A low, spreading habit that shades the soil around a rose's roots, helping keep them cool while suppressing weeds at the base of the border.

  • Lady's Mantle

Why grow this with Flaming Star?

Soft, scalloped leaves and frothy lime-green flowers make an easy edging that catches morning dew and softens the front of a rose border.
