(Polyanthas and older floribundas) Bearing large, abundant clusters of small rosette-shaped blooms in the softest blush-cream fading to white, Marie-Jeanne is a rose of quiet, enduring charm. She flowers with exceptional generosity from early summer well into autumn, and the near-thornless stems make her a pleasure to cut and bring indoors. A greatly underused variety that deserves a far wider audience.

Frequently asked questions

Bare-root Marie-Jeanne roses are best planted during their dormant season, from November to March, which is also when we dispatch them. Potted roses are grown in containers and can be planted at any time of year — just avoid periods of hard frost or drought, and water thoroughly after planting.

Every rose we sell is covered by our 1-year Rose Guarantee, so you can plant Marie-Jeanne with confidence. See our Rose Guarantee page for the full details.

Often, yes — we grow our roses ourselves and stock varies through the season, so a variety that's sold out can come back. Use the "Notify me" button above to be emailed the moment Marie-Jeanne is back in stock.

Marie-Jeanne's mature growth range is 90cm x 90cm (3ft x 3ft). Growing conditions such as soil, sunlight, feeding and pruning can affect the final size, so treat this as a guide rather than an exact figure.

Floribunda roses produce large clusters of blooms on each stem rather than one flower at a time, giving a bold, continuous show of colour from summer into autumn. They're generally bushier and more free-flowering than Hybrid Teas, making them excellent for borders and bedding.

Marie-Jeanne is a Floribunda rose.

Polyantha roses are compact, hardy varieties that produce large sprays of small flowers almost continuously through the season. They were the forerunners of today's Floribundas and remain popular for low borders, edging and pots.

Marie-Jeanne is a Polyantha rose.
